What is the name of your state? MI
I am 20 years old and I want to annul, reverse, undo an adoption.
I was adopted when I was 5 years old by my mother's then husband. He left when I was 14 and I am tired of carrying his name on my birth certificate. I have no contact with him.
What can I do?
Thanks!

The easiest and least expensive option is to get a legal name change. With some research and maybe a one-time consultation with a lawyer, you could probably do it yourself.

I don't know much about it, but it is my understanding that even after the child becomes an adult adoptions are very difficult, if not impossible, to "undo."
