adopting my grandson whom I already have full physical custody of?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NY
I was wondering if the parents have to sign off their rights. fi I already have full physical custody as the desereted him, by not showing up at court for custody.

Huh? Want to try this again in UNDERSTANDABLE English??? Why was the child in your care in the first place?


And YES. The Mother and Father will either have to agree to the adoption and voluntarily give up their rights or a court will have to involuntarily terminate their rights.

You should hire an attorney as a adoption isn't a "do it yourself project".
