Adopting your childs child

Is it legal for a father who is in the military to adopt the children of his underage daughter in order to provide the children with the benefits of being military dependants? The father is not even living with his own wife. The daughter lives with the wife and is only 16 years old. She has one child already and another on the way. The daughter is not married to the father of her children and he is from another country and is not much older than her. To me this sounds like the taxpayers of the US are going to get stuck with providing care for these children and the mother of the children is going to skate. Personally I think the father of the underage girl is an idiot for adopting these children ut I was wondering if this isn't fraud too?

Sure. That type of situation is one in which an adoption can be done, as long as the adoption procedures are handled correctly and according to the law.

Sounds like the kids born would be on the public dole anyway -- either through Mr. Military Man's benefits -- or on welfare/Medicaid if the teen-agers are raising the babies.

And Mr. Military Man probably will be a better parent than the teen-agers, anyway.
