Texas-My husband and I are going to be adopting a newborn in Sept. The birthmother and I talk frequently and I completely trust her. She is in a financial bind and my husband and I want to pay her rent until the baby is born.($400/month for the next 4 months). We would send the check directly to her landlord and no money would actually be sent to her. Can we do this? or is this considered buying a baby? Thanks and god bless!
