Question

Adoption of a sibling

What is the name of your state? New York

I would like to find out whether it is possible to adopt my 17-year old sister. She lives abroad but will be coming to the US to study soon. I am a US permanent resident and my husband is a US citizen. THANK YOU!!!

Does she meet the INS definition of an orphan?

Adoptive parents ARE "real" parents. Sharing genes is not what makes you a "parent"!
