What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Texas
Hi There,

I have been in US for 14 years on H1B work visa. My wife does not work. Our home country is India and adopting a kid from there would mean staying there at least 2 years.

We are looking for advise to legally adopt a child in US. Most information online suggests that adoption rights are limited to either Green card holders or US citizens.

Any pointers you can provide would be much appreciated.
