What is the name of your state? TX
My wife and I will be adopting a girl from China. I was told that readopting or affirming the foriegn adoption would be a wise choice for the purpose of future paperwork. My question is : Is this true? and If it is how do you go about doing this and which is better readoption or affirming an adoption?

Thanks
Randy

Texas is one of several states that has NO statutory provision for the readoption or reaffirmation of adoptions finalized abroad. We DID readopt following our daughter's international adoption, to create an in-state birth certificate and complete the name change, but it wasn't legally necessary.
