If the NCP owes any arrears or unpaid medicals, do these amounts have to be paid in full prior to a step parent adoption?
The CP is saying if the adoption happened, the NCP would still be responsible for what's outstanding because of the waiver
he is to sign saying he's received nothing in return for giving up his rights, that not being held accountable for those monies would be considered something of value and would nullify the adoption.
He's not asked her to forgive any arrears, but the CP is saying that he would have to pay whatever is still owed prior to the adoption. Any thoughts?
