Bio father will not contact us

Texas -
Can any one help guide me on the following matter?
My wife and I are attempting to adopt a child, the birth mother is ready to sign everything, so she can get on with her life. We have been carying for the baby since she was discharged from the hospital. Our problem is we cna not get in touch with the father; we have been attempting for two months befor the child was born and we are now at two weeks old. What are we to do?

Had potential biodad been involved in the adoption plan before the birth? If no DNA test has yet been done, how do younknow this is the biodad?
