Birth certificate

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? DELAWARE
I was born in Yonkers, NY. I cannot get a birth certificate because my mother's first name is different than what she went by. They told me her last name was correct, as is my father's, but they will not issue me the certificate unless I know the correct first name of my mother. I also realized the birth registration that I have has her first name glued onto it. I called the hospital, but they said they don't keep records from 1958. Help

for what reason exactly are they denying you???

you are getting your own birth certificate correct???

you should have right to it regardless of what is on it....

I hope someone with knowledge answers this for you, as now I am pretty curious myself.
