What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? i Live in Ny . I have a felony for theft without proper disposition of funds. I got the felony in 2001 its the only thing on my record. my husband is in the military and i already have two children, but we would like to open our hearts to another child but i am no longer able to bear my own. I know there is a criminal backround check but what are they looking for and will me felony stop me from adopting another child? and if not adoption, could we become a foster family?

You may be able to adopt but you most likely will not be able to be a foster family.

Yes you can (domestically) . Find an agency and be completelyupfront and honest about your past - tell them how you have learned and how it has made you a better person. SO NOT try and hide this info - THEY WILL findout.

The possible birth mom's do not see this info - they only know if you passed the Homestudy.
