child support after adoptionWhat is the name of your state? Kansas Actually, Kansas is a temporary location. We are active duty Army and my ex husband is active duty Navy. He is stationed in California. My question is after the adoption of my 2 kids to my current husband is final, will my ex still be required to pay child support and will he have any legal rights to the kids afterwards? |

| No and No.

In fact, you are so astonishingly correct in this matter, it will not surprise us one bit if you are offered a generous settlement, because, by golly, that’s just how it should be. | The only exception would be UNPAID child support that accrued BEFORE the adoption is finalized. Child support arrears are still due even after the adoption, however, your ex still has no rights to the children.
