child's right to choosemy child's biological father hasn't paid child support in a year, owes over $5,000, has made no attempt to contact her in over a year and hasn't seen her in over 3 years. her step-father would like to adopt and has tried to contact to discuss without success. i have heard when a child is 14 they may choose if they want to be adopted - is this accurate info? if not, do i have a case for abandonment in tennessee? |

| If you lived in Indiana, you would have grounds for an adoption done without father's consent. You need to consult with a Tennessee attorney to see if the same would apply there. Most will give free initial consultations or free phone consultations. |
