Disrupt/dissolve adoptionHi, My name is Linda I live in Nj and finialized in Norristown PA the adoption was thru DHS in Philadelphia this past August. The boy is 11 yrs old. DHS lied about his past, and as a result my 4 yr old son was physically and sexually assulted. He currently is not living home(11yr old), he is in a Psy ward. I do not ever want him home again. Do I need a lawyer in PA or NJ? How hard is it to un-adopt? Also, at the time of placement in my home another woman with no children was very interested in adopting him. Can she and I do a private adoption thru private attorneys? |

| I do not know the laws in either of the states you mention. However, in Indiana, once an adoption is done, it's done, and you have all the rights and responsibilities of a biological parent. In other words, you are now the boy's mother, so I cannot think of any reason that you would be prohibited from allowing someone else to adopt him privately. However, are you sure she still wants to, under the circumstances you described? What state does this potential new mother live in? Sounds like a monstrous situation for all parties involved.... |
