I am in michigan and I am having a issue getting the court to let me consent to the adoption we are trying to do of a nephew. He has lived with us since birth and his biological parents are going to consent but because my wife and I are the guardians we need to consent but we can only do so with the courts permission. any input would be great.

Then I'd suggest you find a way to get it - honestly, adoption isn't a DIY project. There are too many things that could go wrong.
