guardianship?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California
My mom and dad adopted 2 of their great-grandsons. Two months later my mom passed away. I have been taking care of my dad and the boys. How do we make me their legal guardian? Also after dad passes he would like to know that they will continue to be with me.
