Exclamation

I was contacted by a friend living in Colorado (I live in Michigan), her and her husband asked me if I would be a surrogate for them. This would be a compassionate surrogacy with no money exchanging hands. Can or does anyone know about MI surrogacy laws, as this is where the baby will be born? I need direction as to information on this subject. Any info is appreciated.

Re: michigan surrogacy laws

If you are married, you MUST appear in court, WITH your spouse so that you can petition the court to put the intended father on the birth certificate..
in the state of michigan, if you are married, your husband is the father,,,PERIOD
you must go to court to prove (because of reason of non-access) that your husband is not the father, and the father must ALSO (at least in court) contest you becoming pregnant..
If the husband consents to your pregnancy, then he is again defaulted by the state as the father..
let me know if there's any other questions..
p.s.
I'm a husband of a recent surrogate mother..I know all this crap..

The rules are very strict in some states so you must contact a good attorney for legal guide lines.

Why are you necroposting to a thread that's 7 years old?
