Question

Minor give up child for adoption

What is the name of your state? Colorado

I currently have a young lady staying with my family and I, who has recently become pregnant. This is her second pregnancy, as the first she had an abortion. She does not want another abortion, so taking into consideration she is just 15 adoption seems like the best option. Her brother lives next door to us and her mother is about 5 hours away, her father (who she resides with) lives in California.
My question is does she have to have any parental consent to be able to give her child up for adoption? How about the young man who is the father? Is there a difference in laws in Colorado and California in this situation?

Thank you very much,
Traci B.

You may want to explain why she is staying with you, yet resides with her father.

In fact, you are so astonishingly correct in this matter, it will not surprise us one bit if you are offered a generous settlement, because, by golly, that’s just how it should be.

Parents no.

Father of the child Yes. Otherwise, she will be committing adoption fraud.
