When a child is adopted is the non custodial parents obligated to continue paying child support in new york state? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? New York State.
Non custodial parents lost parental rights, terminated due to abandonment. The child was being fostered by a distant relative and was not allowed any visitation. However an order of support was ordered. Parents have paid support all the while, and owe rears due to lack of steady employment and or low paying job. The child was then adopted by said family member. Meanwhile the parents were not notified of the adoption and are currently paying child support. Are the natural parents still responsible for paying support for the child even though they are no longer legal parents?

You will have to be more specific.

Who adopted the child and what are the circumstances surrounding the adoption?

IF the non-custodial parent's rights were terminated by the court AND a step-parent adoption has taken place, then the non-custodial parent is no longer the parent of the minor. The only way CS would be due is if there were arrearages. Those do NOT go away because of an adoption.
