What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? i'm from utah and just found out that my cousin's daughter is 6mos. pregnant and she is only 14yrs. old. I have infertility problems and have not been able to conceive a child-my cousin and her daughter want to give me custody of the baby when it is born, what do we need to do to get the ball rolling?

Is the father also a child? Is he agreeable?

Second, contact a lawyer to work out the details of the adoption. This is really not a do it yourself project.

If the father is also 14 or so, legally he is not a rapist.

You, your cousin and cousin's daughter should get a consult with a local adoption attorney. The laws regarding adoption can be complicated, plus the father of the child must be notified and given the chance to contest the adoption. These are things that really shouldn't be done without an attorney.
