Question

Open Adoption

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Louisiana

My husband and I are trying to adopt a 4 year old who is not related (biologically) to us. Her parents are not married and the mother has full custody. The father has said he will sign whatever documents needed.

What steps should we follow?

First, you hire a lawyer who specializes in such things.

Second, follow his directions.
