Exclamation

parental termination

What is the name of your state? OHIO

My question is this...... can I have my ex-husbands "parental rights" terminated.... without a stepparent to adopt?? He has provided no support and no visitation for over a year?? I dont need his money and he has shown he wants no time with them**************

As far as I know...NO, you cannot, unless of course there is proof that he is a danger to the child.

You can't get his rights terminated but you could try to have his visitation status modified on the basis of abandonment to ensure if he were to reappear the children are protected. Otherwise why bother, if he's not contacting, and he's not paying support it's highly unlikely you have a way to contact him to make any decisions and if you have proof that you can't more the better.
