What is the name of your State: Nevada (Clark County)

My husband and I have filed papers with the Clark County District Court for Step-parent adoption of my 12 year old son. The biological father is deceased.

My question is: Will I have to publish due to the fact that the biological father is deceased?

Was paternity LEGALLY established?

IF paternity had been legally established before the father's death, you should be able to attach a certified copy of the death certificate to the adoption petition.
However, make sure by getting a quick consult with a local attorney.

Yes, paternity was established. I was married to the biological father and we did attach a certified copy of the birth certificate to the "Paternal Consent to Adoption" in which I stated that the biological father was deceased. I just couldn't find anywhere in the Nevada Revised Statutes where it said whether or not we had to publish when the natural father is deceased...
