When a stepparent adopts a child, he becames the child's parent 100%. He is obligated to pay support and if he wants, get visitation scheduled.

Rescinding a stepparent adoption would follow the same guidelines as termination of parental rights.

You can do waht you want to do if someone else is standing at the ready to take over the reins and serve as a parent to the child.

You can sign a consent to adoption and then the court can approve the adoption of the child by someone else.

Short of that, you're not going to get an adoption undone just because you wish to God you hadn't done it to begin with.
