Neither of you are attys

Zig--SugarPlum--or whatever,

Neither of you are attorneys. If you were, you would not say "IF" doesn't cut it in the legal world - guffaw, guffaw!! The laws are open to intepretation, hello??? If I had a quarter for everytime I asked an attorney a direct question as to "standing" and heard, "It depends," well, then I would be one wealthy person!!

In an earlier post someone said, step-mom would NEVER get to adopt her step-daughter without bio mom's consent. All I am saying is, "It depends..."

(Plus, I reviewed PA statutes for same and saw that the courts can waive consent of the non-custodial parent - it just depends . . . .

Courts can waive consent in very limited, clearly defined circumstances.

I'm going to be more blunt. HUSH.

Lighten up, Izzie

Hey, C'mon,

Why is there so much hostility on this forum? I wasn't wrong - I did my research and I believe the point was that it is POSSIBLE for a step-parent to adopt a step-child without having the consent of the non-custodial biological parent under certain conditions. That is the beauty of law, isn't it?

The OP didn't give us every detail of bio mom's issues - so how can anyone say NEVER or IMPOSSIBLE?

Anyway, I just joined this forum because it is helpful, and it is interesting and I thought maybe I could learn and I could also share. I don't get the hostility. I've been home nearly two months and in between chemo/radiation treatments I like to have some distraction and interaction with others. Seems if someone has a differing view or opinion (from the senior "click") they are bullied and ridiculed.

real nice, people.

Somewhere in a far away land in a qualified mental health facility, a bed is empty and the nurses are frantic because one of their most scariest patients has escaped.
