What is the name of your state? texas

 Can I have the homestudy waived since this is a step-parent adoption or is it required by law and it has to be done? Has been his dad for 7yrs now. been married for 6yrs. I would also like to know if i need a mother's affidavit and a step-father affidavit? are these general affidavits?:)

You can request for the homestudy to be waived....we did, but it did not go through, so the homestudy was required by the judge. I believe it will be at their discretion.

My husband and I have been together for 9 years, and married for 7 as well. Stepfather is the only dad my son knows.

Good luck!
