Step Parent Adoption, Then Separation

I have adopted my step-children a year ago only to find myself in a separation situation. What a mess.

A couple questions:

Do I have a chance for equal custody ?

Will I be obligated to pay child support ?

Yes to both...
By adopting the children you took on the responsibility and in turn when filing a divorce decree or separation agreement whichever you decide to do you will have the rights and responsibilities just as a biological parent would.
