stepfather adoption

What is the name of your state? UT
I recently married a women with 4 kids. We want to adopt her children, 2 of them are hers and she has custody of them. The 2 older kids were from her ex's previous relationship. They have not seen or heard anything from there bio mother in over 2.5 years and the bio father has not been in contact with any of the children that I know of for about a year. He has called my wife but only when he needs something for himself, never to talk to the kids. He has been in prison for drug related charges since December and will be there for 5 years. He has an addiction to heroin. I'm looking for advice on what to do from here about her children as well as the older 2. My wife does not have custody of the older two but left and got divorced with all 4 kids because of his drug problem. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You're going to need an experienced adoption attorney, and an enormous amount of $$$$. Read around on this board and others -- it's going to be tough to do what you want.
