What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Illinois

My ex-wife has sole custody of my 2 boys age 15 and 17. She re-married 2 years ago and her new husband wants to adopt the boys because it may help the older one get money for college.
Does he need my permission?
If I do give my permission are ther other ramifications?

Yes, Mom would have to have your permission for her husband to adopt your sons.

If you give your permission, then you are no longer Dad. You will not have any legal rights to these two boys. If you are paying CS, you will no longer be paying CS (unless you have arrearages; adoption will not wipe those out). You will no longer have parenting time/visitation. You will be a non-entity in their lives.
