Uncontested Step adoption

What is the name of your state? GA

My daughter's bio dad was and remains a friend of mine...never married. He has known my husband for three years and agrees with us that my husband adopting my 8 year old daughter would be in everyone best interest. There is and never has been a child support issue. I looked into a few attorneys but they all start at 500.00. I wondered if there is a cheaper way, filing the forms myself? I even contacted the county adoption office, but I guess they only hear of contested adoptions and sent back an e-mail completely unrelated to our circumstances. Any advise? Thank you!

Put money down and pay the balance off per month. $500.00 to file an adoption is a damn good fee. It is extremely hard to try and file yourself.
