Alimony

What is the name of your state? Texas
Is there a limitation on time per receiving allimony in the state of TX? Would there be a way that the courts could extend the time due to my inability to support self due to having a disability/unable to work? 2nd, since spouse changed jobs/states, he has not been sending proper amount of checks to be submitted, how do I go about handling this?

dear Nimiwey or one that replied

Unfortunately, you do not know the reasons why I have not been able to do that. I suffer with chronic kidney disease and chronic kidney pain that is debilitating to the point, I am bedridden with it.Even though this is the case, and I know of a huge possibility of not being able to use the education that I am pursuing at this time, I am going through the Texas Rehabilitation Program and getting help to send me back to school. Even though I am doing this, it brings my phsycial well-being down, and currently I have 2 ureters that are constricted to where my kidneys do not drain efficiency. So before you make judgements about others questions and concerns, why don't you have empathy and gain some insight what roads people have traveled before you give a smart ass remark.

If you have a court order stating how long alimony is to be paid, you may well have trouble extending that. You'd need to talk to a lawyer. But I am confused regarding your inability to work - in this post it's due to kidney problems, and in the other it's PTSD.

reply-disability

Mamatiger
My disability of 13 years is chronic kidney problems. Since the marital abuse, I have been diagnosed with PTSD. First diagnosis is through my family practitioner of which spouse was well aware of when I married him; the PTSD has been diagnosed in the last 2 years by another doctor since I have been in counseling from the abuse.
Ty for the comment. I appreciate the advice of contacting an atty.
