You can always ask, but don't expect to get too far with it unless there are extenuating circumstances. Alimony is not easy to get anymore, is generally reserved for long-term marriages where one spouse didfn't work for an extended time, etc. It is generally assumed that able-bodied people of both genders are capable of supporting themselves.
