alimonyI am living in Maryland. I am seperated. My husband has a long history of mental illness, suicide attempts and drug abuse. He has not worked in 3 years and receives SSI disability. I have worked, as a teacher, for 14 years and have supported him. He is now asking for $1000.00 a month in alimony. I only make $55,000.00 and have the house and 2 children to take care of. Is there a chance that he could be awarded alimony? |

| How long were you married? I doubt you will have to pay $1000 a month but you might have to pay something, depends on how long you were married and a bunch of other things. You will both have to fill out financial statements. Your expenses AND your worth

replyWe were married for 10 years. He has not workind in 3 years. We have no debt and very little worth between us. I only make 55,000 and have 2 children and the house. He was not a major contributor to the family and deserves nothing from me. |
