Alimony


What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Florida
I'm a 77 yrs old white gentleman, US Army veteran & I am indigent & I need help & advice. Can I collect alimony from my ex wife. we were married for 8 yrs & lived together 5 yrs after the divorce.She is 66 employed collect social security plus a pension from a school district in Pa. for a total of app $30.000 per year.I tried collecting off her SS but I'm better collecting on my own. My total income per mo is $899.SS. I tried to get her to sign a quit claim deed on my house so I could get a reverse mortgage She refuses

Highly unlikely. You had a somewhat shorter marriage and you've been divorced for at least 5 years; if it wasn't taken care of in the divorce it's not going to happen now. And not that you would, but don't make the mistake of threatening her with "sign the quit claim or I'll sue you", k? That will not work.

(and by the way the color of your skin is about as relevant as what I had for breakfast this morning)

Show mercy! I was trying to make a vital educational point to Lil Pup....proof that because I am a Mommy not only do I have eyes in the back of my head, but I can have my cake (or pie) and eat it too

I was forced to have Pepperidge Farm Double Chocolate Milano cookies, a whole bag. Also for medicinal purposes.

Did your divorce address the issue of the marital home?

If so, what is the exact wording of the decree?
