| i was divorced in Wi in 1998, i am done paying child support because all the children are of age now and no longer going to school. i am court ordred in wi to pay my x wife maintance. it was automaticly taken out of my check. i have moved to arkansas recently to take a new job. what can happen if i do not pay her? | Mille, Are you saying that you would like to simply stop paying, not doing anything legal about it and hope that there are no serious consequences? Because it isn't going to happen unless she lets it. If you do not pay her as per the court order, she can take you back to court for contempt of court. A judge issued an order for you to obey. Judges prefer to be obeyed! Why don't you go see an attorney for a free consult, take along your papers and ask if there is any way to stop the payments? hm |
