Alimony Adjustment

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California
I was married for 23 years, the last 5 years putting my ex thru school and he reached his goal, 1 year after that, he wanted a divorce. It has been almost 3 years since we separated, and almost 1 year since our divorce has been final. Our youngest child graduated high school in 2008. My alimony has never been adjusted to reflect the fact, he walked away from our mortgage, which was what originally my $370/mo alimony was based on at that time. I make about a 1/4 of what he does so I couldn't hang on to the home. He also remarried two weeks after our divorce was final. He has since been promoted to captain (earlier this summer). I do work full-time, but had to relocate after I was laid-off from my job of 6 years Aug 08, my cost of living has changed fairly drastically. I am looking for any direction that could be suggested to get started. I can't afford an attorney, the one I had for the divorce is a story in itself and of no use to me now. Thank you in advance for information you might be able to provide
