Alimony PaymentsI live in New Jersey, I've heard that the husband can stop alimony payments once his ex-wife has a boyfriend living in the same household with her.Is this true? Also, if a couple gets separated and the husband is helping pay the mortgage and the ex decides to have her boyfriend live with her can the ex husband stop paying his part of the mortgage? |

| Hi, I think from what I have been reading that anyone can petition the court when there is a change in someones income etc. I am not sure about NJ..I wish that I could be more helpful, but I did want to reply. I would certainly ask an attorney. A part of me says well how do we know if the boyfriend is staying long term, and would the court change someones income on a live-in situation. I tend to think remarrying would make the difference. Good Luck!!!!! Hopefloats-2 |
