Alimony question

What is the name of your state? California

I was married to my ex for about 3 years. During that time I became disabled. I filed for SS benifits and because I contributed to over 50% of her son's care(before my disability), he received benefits as well. I had children from a previous marriage and when they could no longer live my previous "ex" I asked my wife if they could live with us. Her answer was "It's either them or me!!".

My disability was my inability to comprehend or remember which was being diagnosed as a brain disorder (at the time).

After she said that I was devastated but decided to move closer to my children. She filed for divorce immediately. At the time I didn't understand her urgency to get a divorce other than spite.

I am still receiving SS diability benefits and my ex is doing really well. I feel that because I helped her and her son so much that in my time of need she should be helping me.

Can I file for spousal support? I don't want much.

I have all of my children (three daughters) living with me now!
