approx how much?

What is the name of your state? NJ

I hope someone can help me out here. We've been married for 10 1/2 years and have 2 children. My ex-wife is living with her mom. Will I be required to pay alimony and if so, approx how much do you think i will pay? I make $55000 a year. Thanks!

no one can tell you for sure if you would be required to pay spousal support. That is up to the judge and depends on the circumstances. ie. length of marriage, her age, her possible earning, potential, etc. There is also no "set" amount. You need to take all of your facts and financials to a local attorney and go over the numbers. Do you have an attorney? Does your wife? You mentioned that she is an "ex" wife....or is she just your "estranged" wife"?

That's up to the court. A WAG says YES.

Another WAG says if she doesn't work and never has plan on 50% of your income going to child support and alimony

After my husband's experience with Ohio Domestic Courts, I'd almost venture to say that you'd pay 50% for alimony PLUS child support. Brace yourself...

Sorry.
