can't get alimony checks on time!

I am 58 years old and was married for 29 years to a succesful professional man. We were divorced 3 years ago and the divorce decree states that I am to get alimony payments by the 5th of each month. He deliberately make the payment late so that I cannot pay my bills on time. I get late payment fees every month. The alimony amount is $2,400.00 a month and I must make mortgage payments. This is causing my credit to look bad. Is there anything I can do? My college age son has moved back home and I am helping him finish his schooling. I do not get child support.
