Child support proof

What is the name of your state? Florida
Ok quick question! Please tell me~As far as paying child support with a check, what if the person recieving the child support chooses not to cash the checks? Then the checks go void or the person becomes nasty and reports the other parent and says they have'nt ever sent any checks? How do you prove beyond it being written in your checkbook that you did pay it? I know you could send it certified mail but that would cost a fortune to do every week**************.Just curious~hope someone knows. Thanks

Are you ordered to pay weekly? If not, send a monthly check. Also, make sure you keep that money available in the bank, regardless of whether she cashes the check or not..

Hello Jyoung.. filed that appeal yet?

....the waiting is the hardest part....initial, reply and answer briefs are in the hands of the appellate judges. We'll see. My daughter is back from a long working engagement in NY and abroad filming a pilot (she has the lead); we're making up for lost time and enjoying the holidays. although her dog had to put down tonight and she still wanted to come to my house for the weekend, hard on a ten year old) my best to you and yours.

I'm not sure what it is but there is a way to request a "signature" for receipt or other method of proof of receipt.

Another alternative is to purchase a money order every month or have a cashier's check made out by your bank.

This is called "certified funds" and her failure to "cash" these certified funds is provable. Also the fact that these require you to have the cash on hand helps. I think now a Cashier's check would be best because they make out the Payee, on a money order you fill out the payee.

If you use your bank for this, they keep records of all of that and you can easily prove that you purchased the Cashier's Check and also there is a way with the post office that you can purchase a "tracking receipt" which shows proof of receipt.

Another way is if you live in her area carry a receipt book with you when you deliver the check and make her sign and date her receipt of the check.

Also you could request that the state Child Support Division do this for you. You send them the money and they send it to her stopping all question as to whether or not she received it.

These are just some suggestions. Also if you use Certified Mail, I would think you might find a loop hole so that you could at least deduct it somehow on your taxes.

I would definately get into the "certified funds" case so that you can prove you purchased the "cashier's check" with her as the payee.
