| | cohabitation laws in arizona What is the name of your state?arizona, i live with my girlfriend and her daughter, soon to be ex, we have been living together for almost 2 years. she threatens about cohabitation laws in arizona. she wants me to believe she's entitled to the equity in my house since she's been living here and kind of helping with bills(i pay just about all of them).
is there any truth to this, does anyone know if she is entitled to anything, or is it just go your seperate ways? i feel like im supporting both my soon to be ex and her daughter, does anyone know about this subject>? can she take me to court for this? any info would be greatly appreciated.

-sad in az | There is no such thing as a co-habitation statute in Arizona. What your demented soon-to-be ex is refering to is common law marriage.
Only Alabama, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Montana, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas and Utah, as well as the District of Columbia, recognize common law marriages. New Hampshire recognizes common law marriages only for the purposes of inheritance. In any other state the only marriage that is recognized as valid is an official one.
Tell her to kiss your assets goodbye.
