Why haven't you worked? You may get short term spousal support -- very short term. But it matters why you haven't worked.

Is it 2 years or 5 years?! Why aren't you working, securing health benefits and contributing to your future social security?

It's never wise to hang your hat on someone else's ability to earn a living. If they are ever impacted, you will also be impacted and have no control over the outcome...

i found out

that my husband was gay! making gay porn, is all over the internet.. had a pseduo "name" and personality!
i lost my dad, my baby and found this out one behind the other.. so i havent work because of "clinical depression"... everytime i turned around it was something new going on with him.. he made enough money, didnt care if i worked, financially he has taken very good care of me. Afraid it would ruin his career if info was to get out..

his take home every month is $10, 400 and we get yearly bonus (have varied from $25,000 - 50,000)
*note the "we" in that sentence, because i want some of that too~

i'm not even fully functional at this point, but i want out! (obvisouly) and i need to know what at the very least i may receive until i am back on my feet!

I noted the WE and WE do NOT get a yearly bonus. HE DOES. Good grief. A bit greedy aren't we? Treat your clinical depression and get a job. Many people with depression work daily in high paying careers. Your excuse is NOT good enough and quite frankly you need to grow up and deal. You stayed because you liked the fringe benefits of the $10,400 coming into the home every month. You stayed because even if your husband is gay and not just acting gay for the porn films, you were getting something out of it. You stayed because you did NOT want to leave because when you leave you will be required to support yourself. Those are facts.

Now you may qualify for alimony for the short term but it will NOT be lifetime so you better not live outside what you yourself can earn.
