Disability retirement & alimony

What is the name of your state? Ca.
I have a disability retirement from the County of L.A. My knees are all screwed up and my retirement is my only source of income. I have been married for 26 years and am considering a divorce. I have heard that disability retirements are exempt from spousal support. Is that just wishful thinking?
