Division of Property

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Connecticut
If I fail to pay alimony and division of property and get a letter of contempt from the court what can happen to me if I dont show up for a court date.

Thanks LJD

Worst case?

There can be a warrant issued followed by arrest and jail time.

Soo...obviously this is not a smart choice.

ETA: And of course if the obligor is jailed s/he will still have to pay once s/he gets out....

I agree and will add that liens can be placed against your assets and garnishments can be placed against your wages.
