Divorce Asset Protection

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

I live in Florida and am buying a new home with the proceeds received from recent Florida divorce. I want to protect the new property from any future claims from x-spouse. What can I do?What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

Is the divorce final? If so, then you have nothing to worry about. If the divorce is not yet final, but the property settlement is final, then again, you have nothing to worry about.

However, if nothing is final, I would recommend putting off buying a home.
