Divorce laws CA vs NJ and inheritance

What is the name of your state? California
3 years ago my husband left and moved to New Jersey. iam in california.he was disabled but has since had surgeries and is entitled to training for a new profession. i was left homeless, iam not any longer and left with all the bills. I have a 17 yr old that he raised since 3 months old who he insisted used his name and continues to.She is not entitled to his social security because she collects on her bio athers death benefits we are struggling financially though i work 2 jobs i make very little,we have state medical insurance and have to apply for food stamps and he has inherited in the excess of 200,000 or 300,000 dollars, which he has yet to recieve.he collects social security disability also. Can I get any financial help from him, from his social security and what are my legal rights to any inheritance? He now has a girlfriend living with him and completely ignores his family, he promised financial support but has not helped. i cannot afford an attorney and am desperate. Can someone please advise? iam 50 years old.
a footnote to this: after i wrote this i called social security and because of my age and because iam able bodied iam not entitled to any social security on his benefits.
thank you
