do I need a lawyer for a spousal support Hearing? What is the name of your state? PA I was married for 5 years and my ex left me with all the bills and hasn't given me any money in 3 months. I filed for spousal support and have a hearing in one month. He is now living in Nevada and will probably do the hearing over the phone. My friends are telling me i need a lawyer to represent me in the hearing. How much will it hurt me not to have a lawyer there since I can't afford one?? |

| You need a free consultation with a local attorney, but WHY do you think that you will get SS for a short-term marriage?

spousal supportI'm sorry i should of included more i've had a consultation with a lawyer and they said i can get SS up intil i get divorced. And the reason i'm going for it is because i am still paying his truck payment, car insurance, and medical insurance. But anyway my question was regarding the hearing what its like and whether i have a chance in representing myself. |

| His own debts ARE his responisbility. Marital and joint debts are both your responsibilities. SS is a different matter.
