ex-wife living with someone-alimony

What is the name of your state? New York My ex has had someone living with her for the past 3+ yrs and receives alimony from me. Are there any laws in NY concerning this? Also how can I find how much I still owe her without getting a lawyer? I put myself through a bad time after I left her and let the divorce get away from me and it was settled without me, the alimony is garnished at $150/wk, I make 30,000/yr and really need to get this done with and move on!! NO KIDS

What does your divorce decree say about alimony? Does it say that it ends when she begins to live with someone?

Get a copy of your divorce decree, the answer to both questions lie within it. It should state when alimony ends - either through marriage, a set time frame, cohabitation, etc. The time frame, if it exists, will tell you how much longer you'll be paying.

Q: What's the difference? Isn't the final decree a family court order?

No , divorces are done in Supreme court , the SS could either be stipulated or ordered in which case there would be a termination date . SS ordered through Family court is open ended and requires a petition to terminate .
