High Spousal Support....What is the name of your state? OH I know that spousal support is based on the lifestyle in which the married couple led. But what if bankruptcy was filed before the seperation occured cause of the inability to pay the bills & live that life style. If the youngest child is 4, and in preschool, can the wife not be fored to seek employment, she holds a degree & her field is very easily obtained. How is it possible that she can get over half of his pay for her support & then child support & he still be responsible for medical 51% coverage. If this is granted he will not be able to continue working this job, due to the nature of travel/expense to get to work & the inablitly to pay his bills at home. do the expenses of his house hold have any bearing on the support. |

| I suggest your boyfriend consult a family law practitioner. Your boyfriend's situation is complex and no one on the forum knows what "their" lifestyle was before the bk. Have you/your bf run the Ohio CS calculators? Does Ohio include medical insurance in their CS calculations? Does the CS pay for afterschool care for her school age children? These are things you two have to find out. Look up "Ohio child Support" on the internet. Spousal Support has no set formula but probably will be granted at least for the period until the youngest child is in school much of the day until his ex can reasonably pursue full time employment again. Will his ex need a "refresher" course or two in order to be suitable for employment in her field in the current (when the youngest is in school most of the day) job market? But your b/f really has to consult with a family law practioner. |

And this is why sometimes people are forced to get secondary employment in order to survive. Unfortunate, and true.
